Greater Kansas City Chapter of AUSA

Chapter President's Note

Hello Greater Kansas City AUSA Members and Friends,

Your chapter leaders are busily preparing for the September events on our calendar. Please join us on Sept 11 for a Patriot’s Day in Olathe, Kansas at the Great Mall. There will be bands playing on an outdoor stage all day, booths, and the annual Patriot’s Run, which is held to honor and thank those who serve our country and to remember those we lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, we will be holding a General Membership Breakfast with guest speaker Lt. Gen. Benjamin C. Freakley, Commanding General of Accessions Command. (In addition to the KC Recruiting Battalion, the ROTC programs we support also fall under his command.) Our breakfast will take place in the Westin Crown Center. As always, there will be free parking underneath the hotel with a validated parking ticket. Coffee and check-in begins at 7 a.m. We hope you will join us. Please bring a non-member friend for free to share the good news of our Greater Kansas City Chapter of AUSA. We will also post the invitation and RSVP information on our website at www.kcausa.org over the next few days.

Throughout our ten-year history, KCAUSA has achieved great success through the hard work and dedication of its greatest resource—enthusiastic members—people who are committed to and believe in the chapter’s values, vision and mission. We strive to build our chapter on three values that are the key ingredients in everything we do: Patriotism, Teamwork and Selfless service. We are grateful to the individual and corporate members who display these values in the support they give to our chapter. Whether the support comes from sponsoring a breakfast meeting, a cash grant to buy socks for deployed troops, donated goodies for the ROTC Ranger Challenge bags, or wishing the Army a Happy Birthday in the newspaper, our members are ready to lend a helping hand. Thank you for your generous support. We look forward to seeing you at our September events.

Sincerely,

Diane B. Boeger
