Holiday Gifts for a military family in need
by Diane Boeger

Holiday Blessings to a Soldier and his family in the Kansas City area was the goal of the family of Melissa Jacobs.  Melissa contacted KCAUSA and asked if we could help her find a Military Family that her family could bless with gifts this past holiday season.  This special group of people wanted to skip giving gifts to each other and use that money to help a Military Family in need instead.  KCAUSA found an Army Reservist with 4 children who greatly appreciated the generous support of the Jacobs family.

According to Mrs. Jacobs each child received one outfit (pants, tops and undergarments). Each child received some sort of cologne, lotion or perfume (age appropriate of course).
A UNO game for the entire family to play along with batteries and gifts cards to AMC movie theatre totaling $50.00 were given to the family. Also given was a 10 lb Smithfield foods ham and a $100 Gift Card to Sunfresh Grocery Store ,which was very near to their home.

“We enjoyed delivering the gifts and visiting with them both. Their children were in school at the time so we did not get to meet them. Mrs. Wiggins did share some photos of the kids with us which was great,” said Melissa after the delivery.

The Greater Kansas City Chapter of AUSA would like to salute Melissa Jacobs and all of her family for their generosity, thoughtfulness and patriotism during the Christmas Season.  THANK YOU!!!
